How not to be a tourist
in San Francisco
7.15 million people stuffed into a “seven by seven miles square”. And each person as unique as the neighbourhoods in which they reside. From “Hashbury” Haight-Ashbury, which saw the birth of the “Summer of Love” and the appending of “free-” in front of any word or thing they saw fit (free love, free drugs, free food, free Willy, etc.) to the historical Hispanic district in The Mission, San Francisco stands as the second most densely populated large city in the United States after New York City. San Francisco is one of the top travel destinations in the world and is ranked 33rd most visited city worldwide. Imagine, if you will, that huge, constant influx of tourists traipsing up and (and possibly rolling) down our famously steep hills and competing for space during the morning commute just so they can see the accumulation of summer fog under the Golden Gate Bridge. Like all things, these tourists can be tolerated, as long as they know that they are in the best damn city in the world.
Union Square has all the stores you’d find in New York and San Francisco Shopping Center is one of the largest shopping malls in town. Union Square is also a great place to relax on a sunny day at one of the cafés.

Act Section, Don'ts (New York)
Don’t go to the large chain restaurants like Morton’s or the Cheesecake Factory, unless you just really want to try them. There are much better local choices that are better value for money.
